Agriculture attracts big bucks

Queen Creek Olive Mill opening eatery on farm

Come fall, Queen Creek Olive Mill visitors will no longer have to leave the premises for a meal. The working olive farm and mill will open its own restaurant, Trattoria Del Piero, between Oct. 1 and Nov. 1, in time for the first olive harvest, said Perry Rea, the mill’s owner.

Syria Produces 844 thousand Tons of Olive annually

Olive production in Syria reached at 844 thousand tons in 2005 and the number of olive trees mounted to nearly 80 millions where 841 traditional and modern olive pressures exist in the country, Director General of the Environmental Affairs Committee Akram Khouri reported Thursday.
