Turkish – Italian Consortium To Open Olive Oil Refinery In Aydin

AYDIN – Aydin Joint Venturers Corp. chairman Nadir Kutluca said that an olive oil refinery which will be established jointly with the Italian firm Bernardini, would start its test production on March 15th.

Holding a press conference at the construction area of the refinery, Kutluca stressed that 4 million YTL (nearly 2.8 million USD) were spent on the construction of the refinery so far.

“Our three 450 ton-crude oil tanks will be ready this week. One tank with 450 tons refined oil capacity and 4 tanks with 250 tons capacity each, will be installed in February. By the end of February, all the other machinery and equipment will be located in their places. We will start test production on March 15th,” Kutluca said, giving information on the construction process of the refinery.

Moreover, board member from Aydin Joint Venturers Corp. Ozcan Guven indicated that they started trading even before the completion of the facility`s construction.

Guven said they signed an agreement with Greece, envisaging the sale of 200 tons of olive oil and the products would be delivered to Greece the following week.
