I just got registered in this site. I wanted to know more about the possibility of producing Olive oil in Africa and I was thrilled to find out that Liberia, a West African country is one of the major producers of olive oil, this then implies that olive trees could possibly do well in Nigeria and perhaps other west african countries like liberia, since the climate is more or less the same. I am interested in starting an Olive oil production in Nigeria because of its enormous market possiblity. I would pls like someone to give me more information on what it takes to go about or rather start such agricultural venture. thanks Smiley

This is directly related to olive growth but anything is possible, there are blueprints for architecture that can reverse desertification in the Sahara by collects the moisture from the wind and put it into the sand where plant life can grow as well as crops. The future for African cultivation is certainly bright.

South Africans are growing more olives both for the table olive market and the production of olive oil. New trees are constantly being planted with olive farms growing at a rate of 20 percent annually and doubling in size every four to five years.
