Olive d’Or 2008 – 2nd edition – The winners of the Olive Oil’s International Contest
Thursday evening was announced the Nine winners of the Olive d’Or 2008 contest during the Canadian Gala hosted by Agri-Food Export Group Quebec-Canada. 105 olive oils from 18 country participated to this second edition organized by SIAL Montréal.
Olive d’Or is an international extra virgin olive oil contest, respecting the norms of the “International Olive Oil Council” and also a prestigious showcase and tasting area at the SIAL Montréal show. The olive oils are divided into three categories: light fruity, fruity medium and strong fruity.
The winners of each category are rewarded with the following prizes: “Goutte d’Or”, “Goutte d’Argent” and “Goutte de Bronze”.
The Jury chaired by Mrs. Christine Cheylan took place on the 21sr and 22nd of April, 2008. Mrs. Cheylan is an expert in the field of olive cultivation; she has chaired many national and international competitions.
Involved in the world Olive formed professional tasting, she is a producer, manager of an oil mill, and a consultant in olive growing and judge in Olive Oil contests.
