The Versatility of Olive Oil

Extra virgin olive oil has many uses. Did you know that leaving some olive oil in the fridge will give it the consistency of butter? And it spreads well too, tasting great!. It's a great alternative to butter, and much more healthy as well.

Make up remover can be an expensive regular purchase. If you're using olive oil in the kitchen regularly anyway, and you should be, try using it as a make up remover next time. You'll be pleasantly surprised!

Snoring! Happy marriages have come to the brink of divorce because of snoring. And if you've been the one to lie awake hour after hour because of the loud rasping noise beside you, then you'll know what I mean. Try olive oil. One table spoon taken just before bedtime will help to prevent snoring. Really! try it!

Do you like garlic bread? Hmmm… me too. Try mixing some olive oil – extra virgin olive oil for preference – with a little butter and garlic next time. You'll love the extra flavor.

Olive Oil – Food For Thought, And For Life Too

Polyphenols. Do you know what they are, or how they might benefit you? Most people don't, but they are antioxidants found abundantly in olive oil. Why is that important, or even interesting? It is, because when polyphenols are consumed they have all kinds of good properties, such as helping to keep a heart healthy. Helping to prevent colon cancer, as well as other cancers. In short, you really do want polyphenols in your body!

The so-called Mediterranean diet is popular these days, and rightly so. But most people fail to realize that it is a holistic diet. Remove any one part and the rest topples over. Concentrate only on the olive oil, and it's not too bad. But go easy on the olive oil and hard on the wine and bread – not so good. It's a balance. Bread, wine, olive oil and cheese is what makes up the Mediterranean diet. It's worked for centuries for the people of the Mediterranean basin. It can work for you too!

Olive Oil – The Natural Juice of the Mediterranean

It's becoming well known that olive oil, and especially extra virgin olive oil, is an extremely healthy ingredient in any diet. This mainly because it is a monounsaturated fat. Yes, we are told that fat is bad for us, and often that is true, but in the case of olive oil, and certain fish oils, it's good for us.

Extra virgin olive oil consumed at the rate of at least two tablespoonfuls a day will actually lower your cholesterol, according to test conducted. That alone is good reason to use it in your cooking. Of course, you could drink it straight too – it actually tastes pretty good!

Researchers in Spain are suggesting that a regular diet incorporating olive oil can greatly help to avoid colon cancer. Their studies have shown that olive oil measured against other vegetable oils comes out far ahead in this preventative manner. The moral to this story? Get regular with olive oil – today!
