Plus de trois millions de litres d’huile d’olive produits à Bouira

Plus de trois millions de litres d’huile d’olive ont été produites, au titre de la dernière saison, dans la wilaya de Bouira, indiquent les responsables de la direction des services agricoles (DSA).

A travers cette quantité, la wilaya de Bouira enregistre une nette amélioration de la production comparativement à l’année écoulée, où celle-ci avait dégringolé sous le seuil de un million de litres seulement, suite aux dommages importants infligés aux oliviers par les neiges.

Good Housekeeping says all extra virgin olive oils are not created equal.

“Recently we tasted a lot of extra virgin olive oils available in the supermarket and we found lots of variety within prices from twenty-two cents an ounce to a dollar, forty-seven an ounce and we also found a wide variety in flavor profile. From mild, something that could be used for all-purpose, to something that was strong and robust that might over power milder foods, but would be great as a drizzle on a salad or for dipping,” said Susan Westmoreland, Food Director Good Housekeeping.

The International Olive Council focuses on India for imports – but also for olive plantations in Rajasthan.

After wine and cheese, it is olives now. If you have stopped exulting over the number of foreign companies trying to sell you the good life through your palate — thanks to a bustling market growing hugely each year despite prohibitive duties on processed food items — it is time you cheered some more.

The International Olive Council is all set to seriously woo Indian consumers, begining this year. India is its “focus” for the next three years and the organisation, an intergovernmental one set up by the UNDP in 1959, with 39 member countries, has dedicated a budget of ¤500,000 for generic promotions in all the major metros this year.

Retombées positives pour les exposants provençaux au Salon de l’agriculture

La plus grande ferme du monde reste un passage obligé pour les producteurs provençaux qui veulent s’attaquer à des marchés jusque-là inaccessibles.

J’ai même eu un revendeur algérien qui me propose des lieux de distribution en Russie et au Brésil!” Pays dont le dénominateur commun, en dehors du représentant multicartes, pourrait donc être à l’avenir le goût pour l’huile d’olive de Provence rencontrée au détour du Salon de l’agriculture de Paris.

Yves Bernard est heureux: son huile de Berre a remporté une médaille et le stand AOC du pays d’Aix et Salon n’a pas désempli.
