SOS Cuetara to sell Dante Olive Oil and Minerva Oli to Mataluni
Spanish food group SOS Cuetara has agreed to sell its olive oil brand Dante and the other brands of its Minerva Oli unit to Italian sector player Mataluni for some EUR34m (US$45.6m)
The transaction, scheduled for completion in July, is in line with SOS Cuetara’s disinvestment programme.
Dante has annual sales of some 10 million liters and holds a 15% share on the Italian olive oil market.

Slick suspect uses olive oil to rob store
A man found a unique, albeit illegal use for olive oil this week, police said. He used a bottle of it to rob a convenience store.
A witness was sitting in his car when he saw a man enter the store with a plastic bag wrapped around his hand, then drove away because he had children in the car and feared that the man was going to rob the store.
Shortly afterward, the witness returned to the store to check on the clerk after he saw the suspect run from the area.
The clerk told that the man entered the store with his right hand inside a bag with what appeared to be a handgun. The suspect demanded money and the clerk complied.
After getting the money, the suspect dropped the bag in front of the register and ran from the store. Cabral found a bottle of olive oil inside the bag.
