Eat with the olives at mill

Del Piero to provide casual grove dining in Queen Creek locale.

Soon visitors to the Queen Creek Olive Mill won’t have to leave the property to taste the homemade olive oil in their favorite foods.
A restaurant, del Piero, is scheduled to open in early November at the mill, owner Perry Rea said.

A Museum for the Olive Tree

On Friday, one of the most important museums for Greek culture, its history and the country’s manufacturing tradition was inaugurated by President of the Republic Karolos Papoulias in Agia Paraskevi, Lesbos.
The Museum of Olive Oil Manufacturing, a model institution of unique architecture, showcasing the manufacturing tradition and the olive oil culture with modern means, is tightly interwoven with the island’s history.

Amador City entrepreneur is earliest olive oil producer in county

For the first year since she brought her first bottles of her extra virgin Amador Olive Oil to the Amador Farmers’ Market in 1995, Susan Bragstad was able to use her own olives, solely, to produce three sizes of bottles of the rich, golden olive oil. Normal production from her 4 acres of olive trees has been a 1.5 tons; this year, Bragstad was exuberant to realize 3.5 tons, from which 40 gallons per ton was produced. She sells the oil each Saturday at the market in Sutter Creek and Wednesdays in Pine Grove, offering five-ounce bambinos as well as bottles of 12.7 ounces and 25.4 ounces.

Les premières journées méditerranéennes de l’olivier à Meknès

“Les bonnes pratiques oléicoles pour la production d’huile d’olive de qualité et la protection de l’environnement” est le thème de la première édition des Journées méditerranéennes de l’olivier, qui sera organisée du 18 au 22 septembre à Meknès, à l’initiative de l’école nationale d’agriculture (ENA).

Initié en collaboration avec l’université internationale d’Andalucia (UNIA), ce cours-séminaire international, qui rentre dans le cadre des activités de l’Agro-Pôle olivier ENA-Meknès, comporte notamment des conférences techniques et scientifiques. Cette édition réunira plusieurs spécialistes et participants venus des pays du bassin méditerranéen dans l’objectif de partager leurs expériences sur les bonnes pratiques oléicoles pour la production d’huile d’olive de qualité et la protection de l’environnement.
