La demande en huile d’olive sur les marchés israélien et mondiaux augmente (car il a été prouvé que l’huile d’olive est bénéfique pour la santé et son goût est de plus en plus apprécié). Ce qui fut une tradition biblique et le centre de la vie dans beaucoup de villages arabes, a maintenant un grand avenir commercial.

Il y a un potentiel énorme en voie de développement (les Israéliens consomment presque deux fois plus d’huile d’olive que ce qui est produit localement).

[Iran] to sign intl. olive oil agreement

TEHRAN – The cabinet has approved the Agricultural Jihad Ministry’s proposal for Iran to sign the International Agreement on Olive Oil and Table Olives.

The ministry is now in charge of following up the case and completing the first step that is to sign the agreement temporarily. The agreement was first signed in 1986 and was amended and extended last year.

Oberti Olive Canning Plant to Be Sold at Public Auction

California Olive Growers, former producers of Oberti Olives, have ceased operation and closed their Madera, CA facility. All equipment from the factory will be sold at a public auction starting on Tuesday, October 10th.

The humble beginnings of Oberti Olives began in the 1930’s on a family-run farm, where Oberti began producing olive oil. The Oberti taste quickly gained popularity, eventually necessitating modern machinery and several hundred employees to produce enough oil to meet the demand. With time, the Oberti brand diversified to black ripe olives and a host of other supermarket goods.
