County has eyes set on olive oil market

In 2006 Mendocino County will be seeing a new fruit that isn’t normally on the crop report, olives. “I’ve seen our olive oil industry growing in the four years that I have been here,” said Nick Oliver Agriculture/Measurement Standards Specialist III at the Mendocino County Department of Agriculture. “And in the future I can see the acreage and planting continue to increase.”
Queen Creek Olive Mill opening eatery on farm
Come fall, Queen Creek Olive Mill visitors will no longer have to leave the premises for a meal.
The working olive farm and mill will open its own restaurant, Trattoria Del Piero, between Oct. 1 and Nov. 1, in time for the first olive harvest, said Perry Rea, the mill’s owner.
Olive oil producer boosts business intelligence

Olive oil producer Minerva is using software to extract information from its enterprise resource planning (ERP) system reports to boost business performance.
The 100-year-old company translates information and data into spreadsheets and end user reports without the need for significant IT skills or resources.
It also handles account reconciliation, condensing information such as monthly stock transactions, affecting business critical and legal tax reports.
