EXOLEA: Olive Oil From All Over The World in Umbria

The Umbria region is the centre of the world’s attention for three days for extra virgin olive oil. From June 2 to 4, 16 countries will showcase the best they’ve got in terms of olive oil production, with 200 Italian and foreign labels participating in “Exolea”, a fair taking place in Foligno, Spello, Montefalco, Trevi, Giano dell’Umbria and Campello sul Clitunno. It will be a true trip into the tastes and smells of the best extra virgin olive oil produced the world over.

With Italy and Umbria in the front row, recognized as they are in the international olive oil scene, there will also be labels from France, Spain, Greece, Turkey, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Palestine, Chile, Argentina, New Zealand, South Africa and Australia. “So many countries, so much quality”, says Paolo Trenta, the chairman of Exolea and councilman for Economic Development and the Environment of the Foligno Town Council, “and Exolea was created for this express purpose, after urging from foreign producers whop see Italy and Umbria in particular as a fundamental reference point in the common battle for quality”. And this will be the connecting thread uniting all the labels, says Marco Oreggia, one of the top international experts in the sector, author of an important international guide on extra virgin oil. “In the choice of companies, we looked at quality as the top priority. The labels with the Exolea mark are of an excellent quality. Whosoever visits Valle Umbra in these three days in June will have the chance to try the best extra virgin products from all over the world”. (AGI)
