Here a comment from Thrifty about this story:

Wrong labels on good olives says Thrifty’s

Olives stuffed with almonds in the wrong containers accidentally made their way out of Thrifty Foods in Parksville recently, and were the subject of an allergy alert by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.

“It was just the wrong olives in the wrong tub with the wrong label,” says Michael Alexander, the manager of communications for Thrifty Foods. “It was a mislabeling.”

Customers normally have a choice between Sicilian olives stuffed with garlic cloves, or Sicilian olives stuffed with almonds. The almond stuffed olives were in a tub with a garlic label. Only 10 containers were purchased and left the store, according to Alexander.

The product being recalled has the UPC code starting with 207390 with a best before date of June 14, 2006 only.

Alexander says the important thing is that customers not consume anything if they have an allergy. It would only be dangerous to somebody with an allergy, he says.

There have been no reported illnesses. Customers can return the product to any Thrifty Foods for a full refund.
